３月～4月に掛けて、留学生が合計61名入居し、その半数以上の参加を得て、ウェルカムパーティーを開催しました。

パーティ―と箏のライブという組み合わせで、みんながちゃんと聞いてくれるか心配でしたが、奏者の金子様も、会場の雰囲気に乗って、かなり心のこもった演奏をして、演奏中は私語もなく、みんな真剣に演奏に耳を傾け日本古来の楽器である箏を十分に堪能してもらいました。

演奏後の体験コーナーも、みんなが興味津々で、楽しいふれあいの場とする事が出来ました。

今回のテーマは、「出会い」「日本の心」などを中心に考えましたが、ほぼ私の狙い通りにイベントを進行できたと考えます。

今後、皇居ツアー、鎌倉ツアーなども企画して実施したいと考えます。

 

There were 61 new residents from foreign countries on March and April. We had a welcome party, and more than half of the new residents participated in this party!!

In this party, performance of ‘’Koto” was one of the main events. The brilliant Koto performer, Mr.Kaneko, played heartfelt tunes, and everyone concentrated on his performance. Koto is the traditional instrument, and I am sure that participants realized what the traditional sound is like.

After his performance, he let audiences try to play Koto, everybody was interested in playing such a traditional instrument, and we had a great time.

The subject of this welcome party was “a wonderful encounter” and “soul of Japanese culture”, and I’m convinced that everybody noticed this theme.

Next time, I am planning to take residents to the Imperial Palace and Kamakura.
